Description
The TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) Private provide learners with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them work in the following roles; teaching assistant, classroom assistant, learning support assistant, additional needs assistant, pastoral/welfare support assistant, bilingual support assistant or foundation stage assistant. The roles must be under the direction of the class teacher, whose lesson planning and day-to-day direction set the framework within which the individual works. The course contains competence based units, therefore learners must be working in an appropriate school environment for a minimum of 12 hours per week. This can include voluntary and unpaid work.

Entry Requirements
- There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent. Learners should be keen to work in the sector to support teaching and learning in schools. They should also have attention to detail and be willing to work in a team environment, whilst also being willing to work using their own initiative when required.
Course Delivery
- This course is delivered online through our e-portfolio system. You will have access to a comprehensive workbook and assessment plans which will guide you on what you need to do for each unit. You will also be assigned to an Assessor who will support you and provide you with feedback on your work and submissions.
Assessment Method
- This course comprises of both knowledge-based and competence-based assessments. For the knowledge-based units, you will be assessed using written questions, whereby you will need to complete written assignments within your e-portfolio to demonstrate a good level of understanding using the content of the workbook provided. For the competence-based units, you will need to be working or volunteering or have placement in a school setting where you will need to be observed by the Teacher you are supporting and also record logs of everything you do within the time you spend working with the children. As evidence, you will need to submit logs of your work and witness statements from the Teacher you work with to confirm your competence as a Support Teacher.
